We believe that life is inherently political, so let your clothes do the talking.
Sassy Apparel (formerly Sassy Tees) became a reality in November 2015, in the bedroom of a final year politics student. Our founder, Barbara Ntumy, had spent the previous three years representing students in colleges and universities nationally.
She dedicated her time and efforts to anti-racist organising, pro-choice campaigning, anti-cuts demonstrations and Pan-Africanist networking. It struck her that more people could be engaged with political issues through fashion because our choice of clothing, after all, is an expression of who we are.
We have worked with lots of different community based organisations such as Kilombo UK, Afrokanist Magazine, NUS Women’s Campaign, NUS Black Students’ Campaign, No Fly on The WALL & TRiBE. We have been featured on Shades of Noir and Buzzfeed.
