The “Pan Africa” collection focuses on the principle of African Unity initiated by Kwame Nkrumah in his 1963 book Africa Must Unite. Nkrumah makes the case for political and economic unity in the face of neo-colonialism.
It is a call to action for Africa and its Diaspora to re-engage in progressive political dialogue that goes beyond commodifying our culture for consumption, capitalism on steroids which benefits the few and the expectation that diaspora investment will turn economies around.
As the economic conditions get even harder on the continent despite economic growth, we have seen a rise in xenophobia across the continent, it is important that we know that the enemy is disunity and capitalism.
The collection is a collaboration between Nadina Did This & Sassy Apparel.
